Oversee procurement of diverse commodities, including pumps, motors, valves, sheet metal, electronics, all facility services, capital equipment, and clean-room support. Administer annual purchasing volume of $22+ million and a $200,000 annual purchasing budget. Interface with key suppliers to assist in partnering on joint ventures.

1.  Reduced supply costs up to 10% by sourcing and managing supplier base

to create value-added services from key suppliers.

2.  Created and facilitated a material team that reengineered outside

processes and realized an estimated annual savings in excess of $178,000.

3.  Streamlined and improved all purchasing reports by working with

manufacturing and engineering to redesigned functions that interfaced

with purchasing, decreasing input time by several hours per job.

PURCHASING/FACILITIES MANAGER

In charge of facilities management, logistics, shipping, receiving, warehouse, and

purchasing. Handled procurement of raw metal, services of all types, testing and metal

powders. Sourced and coordinated activities with local, national and international

suppliers. Managed daily activities Purchasing and overall operations of 2 buildings located

in Irvine. Maintained responsibility for selection and management of incoming/outgoing

shipments.

1. Substantially reduced purchasing costs more than $8,000 per month by reviewing requirements, eliminating waste, competitive bidding, negotiations, and working with scientists and engineers on alternative products and services.

2. Reduced operating costs associated with logistics, warehousing and distribution by consolidating shipments and utilizing in-house fleet instead of hiring and outside courier.

  

PURCHASING/PROJECT ACCOUNT MANAGER

Creator of remote control software for TV’s, VCR’s, and other devices. Annual revenues in excess of $100 million and approximately 500 employees multiple locations.

Oversaw supply chain management function; managed procurement of all custom semiconductors used in end products. Interfaced with customers, suppliers, and factory. Coordinated procurement of $30 million annually in finished goods from Pacific Rim suppliers. Worked with all project managers and senior management to determine long-range strategic partnership arrangements.

 

1. Saved $1-$2 million annually by coordinating international sourcing and procurement, developing new suppliers, and forging strategic partnerships. Tracked all semi-conductor shipments to approximately 150 different suppliers and/or customer drop ship locations.

2. Reduced freight costs 5% by ordering from the supplier location near our destination and implemented a just-in-time system.  

 

 3. Produced a positive cash flow for the corporation as part of the team responsible for the implementation of the new computer system designed to reengineer sales, purchasing, and invoicing system.

Consultant

Recruited to coordinate point-of-sale device manufacturing shutdown, to include outsourcing repairs and refurbishing to support warranty and aftermarket customers. Held full responsibility for strategic partnership arrangements, supplier training and performance.

 

Manager, Re-Marketing Sales/Customer Service/Account Management

Built sales organization from the ground up to provide used computer equipment to existing customers and repair customer-owned equipment. Led department to generate annual sales of approximately $1.5 million, with a 52% gross margin and only 5 staff members. Directly responsible for purchases, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and sales orders.
